It was late Christmas Eve
And down at the mall
The line to see Santa
Moved at a crawl.
Children shouted and cried,
Muzak played overhead,
Parents looked at their watches
And wished they were dead.
Tommy was impatient,
So he snuck past the sign,
And when no one was looking
Cut into the line.
He was up to the front
Just as quick as a snap
And sat himself...
